Statistics show that the incidents of home fires and electrical accidents typically increase during the winter holiday season. To combat this, the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) is launching its annual holiday safety campaign by providing tips to help consumers prevent household fires and accidents caused by improper cooking, heating, and holiday decorating practices.
Electric bicycles and scooters, or e-bikes and e-scooters, give riders a lower-cost and environmentally friendly way of getting around. But, unknown to many users, the batteries that power these popular devices have also been known to catch on fire and cause explosions. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has created a safety tip sheet here to help lower your risk of fires when utilizing e-bikes or e-scooters.
