Increase Electrical Safety with ESFI Website Redesign
(Arlington, Va.) The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) has announced the launch of its redesigned website, www.electrical-safety.org , with improved search functionality, a completely new look-and-feel for better graphic clarity, and added features to enhance user experience.
“With this new design and structure, consumers at home and in the workplace will have better access to information on electrical safety hazards and precautions,” says Brett Brenner, ESFI president. Along with the added enhancements, visitors to the site are able to sign up for free seasonal electrical safety tips via e-mail.
A new Hot Topics section highlights ESFI's most recent news releases and important electrical safety reminders, as well as recalls and other printable safety materials. The website also includes a new section that features Spanish versions of ESFI's Indoor and Outdoor Electrical Safety Check booklets and the Mr. Plug Fun Book for children. In addition, ESFI is publishing new electrical safety information for the workplace under the moniker “Test Before You Touch”. All of ESFI's electrical safety information and materials will continue to be offered for download free of charge.
The ESFI website was developed by NEMA/WEB, NEMA's web development arm, providing a substantial savings to ESFI and allowing for better control and flexibility in the future. The website has grown in popularity during the past year, with visits up over 150 percent from the same period in 2005.
Founded in 1994 through a joint effort between Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) is North America's only non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to promoting electrical safety in the home and workplace. ESFI is a 501(c)(3) organization funded by electrical manufacturers and distributors, independent testing laboratories, utilities, safety and consumer groups, and trade and labor associations. ESFI sponsors National Electrical Safety Month each May, and engages in public education campaigns and proactive media relations to help reduce property damage, personal injury and death due to electrical accidents. The Foundation does not engage in code or standard writing or lobbying and does not solicit individuals.
