National Electrical Safety Campaign Begins in May!

(Arlington, Va.) Deaths and injuries due to electrical hazards continue to occur each year. Yet most deaths and injuries caused by electrical hazards are preventable, according to the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI).

“May is National Electrical Safety Month, but the focus on electrical safety should continue year-round,” notes ESFI. To help increase electrical safety awareness for consumers, schools and the workplace in communities nationwide, ESFI offers a national electrical safety month campaign kit.

ESFI's 2005 May Kit includes a firefighter's account of the tragedy that can result from unchecked electrical hazards. The kit also provides information on the top electrical safety hazards, including facts, figures and tips to use in the home, school and workplace.

ESFI's 2005 May Kit is available for downloading at no charge from the online library at www.electrical-safety.org .   Download additional ESFI electrical safety information to help decrease electrical hazards.

For additional electrical safety information, visit the Foundation's web site at www.electrical-safety.org or call 703-841-3229.

Founded in 1994, ESFI, the Electrical Safety Foundation International, is North America's only non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to promoting electrical safety in the home, school and workplace. A registered 501(c)(3) funded by leading electrical manufacturers, internationally recognized testing laboratories, electrical unions and associations, utilities and consumer groups and individuals, ESFI sponsors National Electrical Safety Month each May, and engages in public education campaigns and proactive media relations to help reduce property damage, injury and death due to electrical accidents.
