Holiday Safety Campaign

The winter holiday season is traditionally a festive and eventful time of year. Celebrations, family gatherings and visits from houseguests traditionally increase in number during the season. Statistics show that the incidents of home fires and electrical accidents also typically increase during the winter holiday season.

Each year, the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) launches a national safety awareness campaign to encourage families and communities across the country to Make Safety a Tradition of the holiday season. This year, ESFI, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and The Home Depot, is educating Americans about the safety concerns associated with holiday entertaining.

As a part of our annual holiday awareness program, ESFI has created www.holidaysafety.org, a seasonal website dedicated to providing consumers and media outlets with all of the resources needed to help keep families and communities safe throughout the winter holiday season. In addition, the Foundation has prepared a complimentary Holiday Safety Community Toolkit that features instructions, tools, information and resources on becoming a safety-conscious host and/or houseguest this season.

Join with ESFI in this important safety initiative, and help to Make Safety a Tradition for your family this holiday season. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to make use of ESFI's complimentary awareness resources to encourage family, friends, colleagues and neighbors to keep safety in  mind during this magical time of year.

A proactive approach to safety will help you give the gift of safety to your family and friends this holiday season!

Visit www.holidaysafety.org throughout the holiday season for all of the safety tips and tools you need to Make Safety a Tradition for your family.
