  • Look for ENERGY STAR qualified LED products to light interior and exterior environments.
  • Opt for LED holiday lighting instead of traditional incandescent light strands.
  • Install a programmable thermostat to automatically regulate the temperatures in your home year round.
  • Plug electronics into a power strip with an on/off switch that is turned off when these products are not being used.
  • Remember to unplug portable device chargers once the item is fully charged.
  • Consider using batteries as an alternative source of power whenever possible
  • Always look for the ENERGY STAR label when shopping for new electronic devices.
  • Turn off all lights and lamps before going to sleep, leaving home, or leaving a room.
  • Holiday decorations should also be turned off when you go to sleep or leave the house.
