Official Support for Electrical Safety Month Continues to Grow

Department:  Public
Type:  Announcements

The governors of Alabama, Arizona, Maine, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, Rhode Island, and South Carolina have officially proclaimed May 2012 as Electrical Safety Month in their respective states, joining the ten other state governors who have proclaimed their support for ESFI’s national initiative. The state proclamations urge residents to establish good electrical safety habits and to follow them throughout the year.

ESFI sponsors National Electrical Safety Month each May to increase public awareness of the electrical hazards around us at home, work, school, and play. Campaign resources and outreach activities highlight the simple steps we can all take to avoid electrically-related tragedies. Electrical safety awareness and education among homeowners, families, employees, and communities is the key to preventing electrical fires, injuries, and fatalities.

ESFI applauds all of the governors for their commitment to electrical safety.
